Pirate Radio, Curling Nationals and Beer: This week on the NCH

WIDR Week 2010 is nearly upon us. To get everybody nice and ramped up to raise money for the station, the Kalamazoo Film Society this weekend is presenting Pirate Radio with proceeds from the event helping to keep radio evolution alive in Kalamazoo (great film choice right?).

KFS President Mike Marchak will stop by the Nonchalant Café Hour to chat about the film directed by Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually) and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh and more.

Watch a trailer of the seafaring band of rogue rock and roll deejays below.

Also on the program, Kalamazoo is preparing for the finest curlers in the United States as Wings Stadium and the Kalamazoo Curling Club host the 2010 USA Curling Nationals beginning Saturday March 6. Listen in for a replay of a conversation with Kzoo Curling Club VP Jason Hall. Trust me it’s good.

And … Check out our regular chat with KalamaBrew for all the latest on the Midwest craft beer scene and our weekly conversation with WIDR Music Director Jeremy Martin who brings in his top music picks of the week.
